Medical expenses deduction

The medical expenses deduction is a tax deducting a part of medical expenses which you paid in the year when the medical expenses for yourself and your family paid high medical expenses, and you file your tax return. If you or your family member pay medical expenses of 100,000 yen or more in the annual period from January to December, the amount exceeding that amount from the income of the year can be deducted and the maximum of 2 million yen can be deducted.

A person whose income amount is less than 2 million yen is applied when the amount exceeds "amount of income × 5%".
